Here we are: A list of the stories in the Squeaky Clean Universe: All of them aren't live yet, I am working on it.

Right now I don't have linkbacks to my LJ entries either for commenting, or to Boolprop, should you choose. A work in progress, you may call it.

Current work:

A Squeaky Clean Renaissance: Dramatis Personae

A Squeaky Clean Renaissance: Prologomenon: A Most Unlikely Hero

A Squeaky Clean Renaissance: Chapter One: Rightly to be Great

A Squeaky Clean Renaissance: Chapter Two: A Mind Diseased

A Squeaky Clean Renaissance: Chapter Three:  All the World's a Stage

A Squeaky Clean Renaissance: Chapter Four: Do Not Meddle in the Affairs of Wizards

A Squeaky Clean Renaissance: Chapter Five: Aspera ad Astra

A Squeaky Clean Renaissance: Chapter Six: King Cecil and the Dragon.

One offs: A Squeaky Clean Opera, although it ties into A Squeaky Clean Renaissance rather neatly: A Squeaky Clean Opera.

Killers' Asylum, in which Cecil Goodytwoshoes is placed in an asylum with six NPC game killers

Killers' Asylum: Part I.
Killers' Asylum: Part II.

The co-written slash spinoff between DoctorSupremeNerd's The Vetinari Dualegacy. This is its one comm, currently hosted LJ.  It has much more mature content than SC; be warned.Reaper Child and Dr. Death: now at over 100,000 words long.

As requested by [livejournal.com profile] orikes13 .  I can't promise that this will be the most illuminating thing you've ever read about Cecil. For one thing, I feel as though I've already said a lot of interesting things about Cecil, and there are  a number of things I would prefer to leave in the dark. However, such as they are, here they are.

Cecil-philes and -phobes alike, rejoice. )
Is there really anybody left to tag?

To:  Messrs Scuffle and Dustcough, Esq., Attorneys at Law

Dear Sirs:

It is my unpleasant duty to remind you of the obligations attendant upon you.

As you are aware, I have retained your firm on a permanent basis in order to take immediate legal action in all cases including, but not limited to, copyright, patent, property infringement, barratry, soccage-in-fief, liability, damages, etc. Until recently, I have had little cause to regret this arrangement.

I have become aware, however, that my name, and that of my family, has become tarnished in various print media in international markets.  I believe this is colloquially termed the “multiverse.”   I read, for example, in the Roman press, with some surprise, that I have contracted a matrimonial alliance with a lady supposedly nearly related to me.  My brother Lytton informed me, in great distress, that a person greatly resembling me, and purporting to be me, was featured in a lengthy television program originating in Terra Lostundo, a soi-disant “reality series” of the “bachelor challenge” variety.  If I understood him correctly through his severe stammer, he was extremely concerned that I had “lost.”  I have been reported to be in various romantic entanglements and even in a number of institutions for the restoration of the mental faculties.  I scarcely wish to acknowledge the scandalous material in circulation about my grandson Maximilian.

Bluntly put, this nuisance must cease.  If I do not make my movements publicly known, you can be certain that in no way do I acknowledge them to have taken place or not to have taken place or that the person assuming my identity is not connected, or unconnected, to me at any time or, of course, the reverse.  I must insist on the scrupulous defense of my good name and that of my family by means of aggressive lawsuits.

It is scarcely unreasonable to have higher expectations of one’s legal advisors in return for a monthly retainer that is, on reflection, exorbitant.  I trust I will not find it necessary to put my affairs in other hands.

I am, respectfully, etc.,

Cecil Goodytwoshoes

[livejournal.com profile] peasant007  ran the Universal Mary Sue Litmus Test on her character Zane Devereaux, and was alarmed to see that he came up as a 91.  I think the test is flawed and the score was therefore artificially high, but just for larfs, I ran it on my character Cecil Goodytwoshoes.

Cecil scored a 21.  EDIT:  Whoops!  I forgot the De-Sueifiers!  20.

I wasn't all THAT surprised, but I thought I'd add a few comments, because some of this applies to Sims Stories in general.

Long. You've been warned. )

But most of the time, my characters in general have vices that match their virtues.  Sophia has a lot of energy and is very strong-willed; she's also a bit of a rebel and can get in trouble that way.  Is Lytton a quiet, studious, affectionate man who cares deeply about his family, or is he a geeky pushover with an overly idealistic view of human behavior?  Is Cecil admirably steadfast or irritatingly stubborn?  The behavior is the same, but what you think of it depends on who and where you are.

--that it is St. Cecilia's Day. I can take no credit for this: I had totally forgotten it myself, but was reminded when I attended church today (Feast of Christ the King.)

(St. Cecilia, Guido Reni)

Anyway, I thought you might enjoy all that. I carry around a lot of extra material in my skull as a hazard of being a nearly constant tourist to seventeenth-century England.

I haven't been able to play too much: I had a lot of grading to do. I was a good girl and got it done, so I'll be catching up on Legacy Comments tonight and perhaps playing a bit.

Mostly for the amusement of [livejournal.com profile] peasant007 , I thought I would post these pictures.

Those of you who are unfortunate enough to have Cecil in your neighborhoods know that he turns up everywhere, like the proverbial bad penny. Two Outgoing Points my eye; he does run bys, steals newspapers, and shows up on community lots. And his specialty is strolling into important shots, especially when he is supposed to be on a Mysterious Journey.

Slightly spoilery if you have not read the latest chapter of SC )

So I'm working away, and among other things, I am preparing to teach Milton's Paradise Lost next week.  And I really enjoyed Jamie's post about Aria and you-know-who.  Which means you are going to get some Cecil meta.

This is probably only spoiler-y if you haven't read the latest chapter (2/14/09).

If you did read the latest chapter, some of you may have been surprised by Cecil's, um, "employees."  But the suggestions have been there at least since last year.  Which way I go is Hell. . .  )Anyway, I thought you'd enjoy that, and I hope I didn't wind up revealing where this is going to go.  I always think that, and then it turns out not to have been true.

Chapter 15.3: Death on a Cracker.

Also, I would be remiss if I didn't point out that there is an actual *DOUBLE UPDATE* from *Ten Caesars* by [livejournal.com profile] legionary27 today.  My client, who wishes to remain nameless, would also like to point out that he plays an important role.

Ten Caesars Valentine's Day Special: Part I.

Ten Caesars Valentine's Day Special: Part II.

Oh, yes--the comments are somewhat spoilery, so if you haven't read these, you might not want to read those yet.

--which will be the last chapter before college.  I have all the pictures taken and selected.  They're more or less in order, too.  It's really a question of how I want to break up some of the plotty scenes, and how much I want to keep Max and Cecil from running away with the chapter.  I'm hoping that maybe an update will happen this weekend, and then I will be well into University over Turkey Day weekend.

I don't show much of the main house, because there isn't too much to show, to be honest.  Penelope rolls wants to skill and to go to work.  I spend more time trying to stop the grownups from doing things, like playing with tired cats, than anything else.  I'll probably get Achilles a nice date or two before college, but since he isn't going until Ulysses' junior year, there's plenty of time.  I'm also going to tweak his turnons and turnoffs, I think.  He is turned off by unemployed girls, which will make it tough for him at college. I may do a little business tour when the weekend hits the main house, just for some variety, but I don't think it will come into the update.

But I did play the main house a bit more, to balance things out and establish Penelope a bit better as a character.  I wish so much I had Free Time for her.  I really can see her with a potter's wheel, for some reason.  And Achilles is quite the jock these days.

As for Max, he teened up, and I'll leave you with this picture.

I'm really busy, but I'm making time for some fun stuff, too.

Anybody know where I can get some nice recolors of the flower-and-cardigan dress with skimmers from Nightlife?  The one Sunny was in, and which Penelope is wearing as a recolor? I'm not having a lot of luck finding those for adults.

Finally finished writing that review.  I'm glad, because until it was done, I simply could not bring myself to mess around with my game.  I hate being conscientious.

Anyway, this is no big deal, and I'm not even positive that I can replicate it precisely.  I think it's just a few little photo filters.  Still, a minor accomplishment and a technique I may have occasion to use soon.

I have to admit that I love Cecil best perhaps when he is being morbid.  I'm sure it comes from growing up in a Victorian house and really enjoying some graveyards with tombstones that go back to the 1700s when I was a kid.  They just don't make them like that any more, and certainly not out here.

And because surely one photo of Max can't be too spoilery. . .

Isn't he SWEET?

(And yes, he grew up in the Cecilhair all by himself.)

Bonus picture--

Cecil:  Oh, I'm singin' near my tomb. . .

This is what I meant when I said Max lacks Cecil's easy-going, lighthearted charm.  But they do cheat each other at chess.  **Sniff**.
