I can't imagine trying to play 8 Sims in one household through college at one time. I'd feel like I was there forever!
IMO, the 20 Best Friends LTW is easier to do without the Wishing Well than the 20 Simultaneous Lovers, since they can maintain best friends throughout their lives, unlike lovers. I did 20 Best Friends with Wren without ever using the Wishing Well, but probably half of Finn's 20 Simultaneous Lovers came from the Well. ...I still love what MichelleFobbs did with Cassius, though.
Did Sophia retain her Permaplat when you switched her from Pleasure to Fortune? The couple of times I've switched Aspirations, the Permaplat didn't carry over.
I don't think there's a difference between aging up in platinum and aging up Permaplat, at least that I've noticed. Isaac's wife Calista grew up platinum, but wasn't Permaplat, and she lived as long as my Sims who aged up Permaplat.
