For your edification and delight, Squeaky Clean Productions presents a sequel to Rich at the Publius Expense (SC 6.x).

During the third generation of Squeaky Clean, Publius Numantius (Goodytwoshoes) earned Five Top Level Businesses.  And that should have been enough for anybody, right?

Well, no.  We just did it again, and it's partly on account of this little guy:

Fred:  Off we're gonna shuffle, shuffle off to Buffaloooo. . .

Tap dancin' genius.

This is Fred Goodytwoshoes.  He's both Roman and Squeaky Clean.  His mom is the fifth generation spare Ginger Goodytwoshoes; his dad is Junius Marius, one of Cassius and De's grandkids.  Or, as Fred would put it:

Fred:  Mom, I inherited Great-Grandpa Publius' nose and Great-Grandpa Cassius' jawline.  There's no point in being polite about it.

Fred's going to take over the Goodytwoshoes boy's house when Aubrey and DG graduate, so while I'm getting him ready to go to college, might as well get his mom permaplat, right?  Except Ginger's LTW is Five Top Businesses.  I didn't want to have to do this with an heiress, but this is as good a time as any to test out the "easy" way to do the LTW, by letting a Level Ten business drop and building it back five times.

Ginger's sister Ruby sold the family flower shop, Sunny's Snaps, back to the community, and Ginger bought it and re-founded it as Ginger Snaps.  There is no blippin' way I am going to found five new businesses for her, even if I had the space in my neighborhood, which I don't.  But she did have to build the old business all the way back from Level Zero.

Before we head down to Ginger Snaps for the final time, a brief interlude with Fred's dad, Junius.

Junius is a Pop Sim, and he was invited on an Outing.  You'd think I'd learned my lesson about Outings after the last time, wouldn't you?

The young lady pictured above had a rather unpleasant time last time there was an Outing.  Her boyfriend, Cornelius Marius, invited three of his girlfriends along, and she watched him cheat on her.  She's very cranky about it, and she called Junius and asked HIM on an Outing.

This has Rebound/Revenge WooHoo written all over it.

Junius is Pop, so he's always up for an Outing or a Party, but he certainly isn't going to cheat on Ginger.  When I opened their lot, I noticed they had one bolt, but that was only because their turnons didn't match and in fact, he had her turnOFF (ftness).  When that was fixed, they were up to three stalktastic bolts and besides, he really likes her.

So instead, he Influenced Komei to flirt with her.  This was a roaring success.  After once or twice, Linda and Komei actually had a mutual crush.

Linda had such a great time that she brought by an Outing Gift.  A stove.  "Hey, I had a great time, here's an avocado green cheap stove."  I'm not sure I understand the logic behind that, but I'll take the stove.

De Beers:  Oh wow thanks Aunt Ginger, I'm so excited to be buying. . .what was it again?

Hey, you sell fake antiquities, De Beers.  Seems only fair that you should buy a few plants and flowers from your Aunt.

This young woman, Ivy Copur, was absolutely vital in getting Ginger her Five Top Businesses.  Ivy skilled up fast.  She has a gold sales badge and a silver register badge, which she earned by endlessly running the register.

So Ivy and a few others helped us get to Level Ten--but now for the tricky bit.  Once you're at Level Ten, it's surprisingly difficult to go back down.  Your customers tend to cut you some slack.  You earn a few more loyalty stars.  Next thing you know, you're at 154 loyalty stars and you'll never get down far enough to lose back to Level Nine.  So you have to do it when your Business first hits Level Ten.

I'd always heard "fight with your customers."

But it doesn't seem to work that well.  Even influencing zombies to attack your clientele, while entertaining, doesn't seem to do anything, and meanwhile, your courteous and clever staff are racking more gold stars.

But this method works:  unassign your cashier. This goes much more smoothly if at least one of your staff has a gold sales badge, and someone else is an efficient cashier. And let your customers wait in line until bag throwing stage.

Spot the Sim with the most nice points!

Komei:  ANGRYFACE.

Candi:  Hey, I just completed an Uglacy and a Prettacy.  How 'bout some service over here?

Joe:  Oh dear.  Lydia's flowers are going to be late.  Oh, well, I'm sure she'll understand.

If you do this at Level 10, when you have 125 loyalty stars, this happens fast.  Let your cashier come back and begin efficiently checking them out.  A few Dazzles, and that's it, you're at Ten again.  And then unassign your cashier again. Nothing browns a Sim off like not being able to check out and waiting in line too long.

Rhys Fitzhugh:  Do you know who I am?  I am Rhys Fitzhugh and if you don't serve me right now, you'll get a red star so fast. . .

I heart you, Rhys.

Rhys:  . . . What?

You can always be counted on to be grouchy, and at this point we need to lose points as quickly as we need to gain them.

With Business Runs You, it's way easier--just a button to Assign/Unassign/Reassign, and your staff will autonomously do stuff like Dazzles.    Be careful, though.  Fortune Sims get big aspirational hits when you do it this way. You'll probably need to re-energize in the middle with all those Dazzles, so make sure you are not in the Energizer when the business takes a hit.

Cashier reassigned?  Efficient restockers still at work?  Well, get back doing Dazzles, and maybe your sales staff will do them too.

It's actually Ivy who does that final dazzle:

--thus earning Ginger her Five Top Businesses.

After all that, Ivy deserves a promotion to Manager, don't you think?

We really couldn't have done it without the talents and the skill badges our employees developed, and the occasional (careful) use of Rally Forth!

Great timing.  The reporter shows up!  I tried to show her things and Dazzle her, but she seemed uninterested.  And then she shook Ginger's hand and said:

Reporter:  Congratulations, Mrs. Goodytwoshoes!  You just won our Best Of the Best Award!

This makes Ginger very happy, and hopefully it will make up for the fact that I am not getting her her second LTW:  Five Top Level Businesses.

I managed all this in two (admittedly longish) sessions of play.

The good news for SC watchers is that I have a few more days to play Domitilla and Fred, Leia's ready to go, and the households, most of them, are halfway through senior year.  Some plotty scenes need to be shot, and then the writing.  So barring trouble SC may be updating relatively soon and answering the questions burning in your minds.
