While the rebuild is going along slowly, there are some fun things about it.

SHH!  If you know any of the details, don't give it away!

I'm an impatient builder, but even I can't resist the urge to make the legacy house look a bit nicer.

Probably does not seem all that impressive to you, but I figured out how to use the octagonal room tool! The old legacy house was on the flat. This one has a basement, so it's on a foundation, and I haven't figured out how to create an attached garage for a house with a foundation. I decided I wanted more or less the same footprint as before, so what was once a garage is now a crafting room. There's a lot of empty space still, but I'm kind of proud of this:

Why yes, we can make it even more disgustingly cute than before.

You'll notice no big wedding chapel outside. That's because sims never made it outside to the wedding, so I've made other arrangements. The graveyard will be outside and the portrait gallery inside.

Most of my time has been spent recreating Sims. I counted over sixty sims. Of course I needed my borrowed Legacy Sims:

Eddie and Theo: Hee hee! We're gossiping about Stanley, who hasn't even done anything yet!

And of course, sometimes it's necessary to move a Sim into a house, so you can adjust their personalities to the ridiculous amount of outgoing points they really have.

I had to do a lot of townie makeovers, and of course, I didn't want to let this guy do it:

So I let Gilbert Jacquet do it instead.

I'd show you more of his made over Sims, but I don't want you to know who they are.  It's a big dark secret, so if you guessed or know, no telling!

It's also nice seeing some of my Legacy Sims again:

Remington and Daisie Mae.  Now that is ancient history.

I don't actually have an extracted Daisie Mae.  I was just going on the idea that she's probably a clone of her brother Mortimer (her blond hair was dyed.)  I wound up adjusting her nose and lips just a tiny bit, but not by much.  As far as I could tell, Remington thought she was beautiful, so we're leaving her the way she is.

It was fun to see Sunny and Delightful again, too.  Evidently Publius agreed:

Sunny and Delightful were also Sims I created as approximations in Body Shop.  Delightful's probably pretty close to the "real thing."  And I'm happy that with the YA/A conversions I now have, Delightful's able to have her butt-kickin' clothes as an adult.

Some Sims just wanted to enjoy their time back from the dead as much as possible.

Oh, that Spencer.  He hasn't changed a bit.  I'd forgotten what all that Romance Sim with Three Bolts stalking looked like.  I gave Aurora a nice new tutu, though, and I decided that it was a lot easier to give her the regular Maxis tiara hairstyle, too.  (She used to wear a tiara with the Brandi LeTourneau ponytail.)

Sometimes it's easier, and more fun, just to do things over:

I wanted to keep as many of the family connections correct as possible.  So I created Jack and Eddie together, moved them out separately, and townified Eddie (what would I do without my spiritual counselor, right?)  I created Sophia and gave her their three children as teens, then moved them in with Jack, got Jack and Sophia married, and made him father to Penelope, Ulysses, and Achilles.

I thought their impulsive little lawn wedding was cute, but evidently Ulysses found it boring enough that he just wanted to read the paper.

I even think the InSim component looks cute here.

Jack and Sophia weren't the only couple getting re-married.

Too bad neither Count Whoopie nor Elroy are Fortune Sims.  They would really have enjoyed those memories.

I think they're happy anyway.  Nice side benefit: since I have TwoJeff's Same Sex Marriage hack in, they're really married in my new hood.

I'd love to show you some more, but that's classified for now.  Still, I have most of the Sims I need.  There are some things I still need to do, like building and fixing up businesses, but for now, I'm pleased.

It looks like things are going well with the rebuild.

Ah now you know that the only reason Stanley hasn't done anything worth gossiping about yet is because he hasn't had chance.

It was great to see everyone again though. :D
